Out of a total of 18 submissions to win the 2023 South Tyrolean Mobility Award, this year’s first prize went to Konverto AG for their project “Moving together towards a sustainable future”: a comprehensive package to promote sustainable mobility at company level. The project design allows employees to work remotely three days a week, promotes cycling and provides lockable bicycle parking, changing rooms and showers.
On behalf of their team, Peter Werth and Brigitte Linger of Konverto accepted the prize – a cheque worth EUR 6,000 – and congratulations presented by South Tyrol Minister for Mobility.
The runner-up was a project submitted by the Italian Red Cross, whose design for a mobile doctor’s practice was awarded EUR 2,000 in prize money. Bressanone/Brixen city council with their local cycling mobility project came in third.
A special jury prize worth EUR 1,000 went to Luudl – a “digital platform for animals”, designed to offer an online alternative to traditional, on-site livestock auctions with the aim of saving transportation and transfer requirements.
The Mobility Award was launched at the initiative of the South Tyrol Landtag parliament in a bid to encourage the development of innovative ideas and strategies for sustainable mobility. It has since become a high-visibility way to publicly acknowledge the work of those who contribute to the sector and has now been awarded for the seventh time.
The campaign was coordinated by the Green Mobility department at STA – Strutture Trasporto Alto Adige SpA/ Südtiroler Transportstrukturen AG.
