From Monday, 9th October 2023, the Venosta/Vinschgau valley train service will be running again on the entire line between Merano/Meran and Malles/Mals. Partial closures only remain in place in the evenings and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Partial interruptions in the evenings and on weekends and public holidays
In the evenings, the last three train services to Malles/Mals and the last two train services to Merano/Meran will remain suspended. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, too, there will be no trains to and from the Venosta/Vinschgau valley. There will be replacement buses instead, with services running every 30 minutes. Click here for the departure and arrival times. Replacement buses will only stop as indicated in the timetable. In Lagundo/Algund, the stop “Stazione Lagundo/Bahnhof Algund” (train station) is located on Via Weingartner/Weingartnerstraße. Marlengo/Marling train station is only served by the regular 212 bus service.
Bike transport
The bike shuttle service, i.e. a separate transport for bicycles between Merano/Meran and Malles/Mals, will remain available until 29 October. On weekdays from Monday to Friday, services to Malles/Mals will depart from Merano/Meran train station at 9:16, 10:16, 15:16 and 16:16.
Please note that during peak travel hours, it is not possible to take your bike onto trains going towards Malles/Mals from the stations of Merano/Meran, Lagundo/Algund and Marlengo/Marling. Peak hours are from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 17:30.
On Saturdays and Sundays, booking is required and must be made a minimum of 24 hours before the planned journey by calling +39 0473 201 500 (8:00 – 18:00) or by e-mailing info@suedtirol-rad.com. On weekends, bicycles can also be transported from Malles/Mals to Merano/Meran.
