Checking in online with your Südtirol Pass

Minor modifications introduced on 26 April

With the latest release launched on 26 April, passengers using their smartphone to check in online with their Südtirol Pass will notice a few tweaks and enhancements. Here’s what to expect.

Every day, up to 1000 online check-ins are registered using a Südtirol Pass or a Euregio Family Pass ticket. This convenient way to pay for a journey is used not only on buses throughout South Tyrol: Many rail passengers now check in online to avoid having to find the nearest ticket validation machine, and especially when they’re headed north and boarding a regional or regional express train south of Trento.

Online check-in: you decide when and where

Five months after online check-ins were first launched, we’ve now made a series of first changes based on feedback by passengers and on-board staff. Until now, any ticket saved as a “Planned journey” would automatically be checked in at the scheduled departure time: Its status would change to “Active journey” and a green frame would indicate that the ticket has been validated. Now, passengers can also use an early check-in option and manually check in any planned journey. This is especially useful on buses, for example: Passengers can now show their validated ticket or “Active journey” to the bus driver and board the bus ahead of the scheduled departure time.

Here’s how to do it: Go to “Planned journeys” > “Details” and click on the blue button that says “Check in now”. The selected journey will then be validated and displayed as an “Active journey”.

No need to carry your Südtirol Pass with you

Another convenient novelty: The Südtirol Pass holder’s name and surname are now also displayed in the ticket shop (My journeys > Active journeys). This makes on-board ticket inspection much easier and means that passengers no longer need to always have their Südtirol Pass on them.

Online check-in: try it out!

If you haven’t used our online check-in yet, give it a go! All you need to do is sign up to the ticket shop once. After that, checking in online is a matter of just a few clicks. Here’s how it’s done:
