Every year during high season, thousands of tourists and visitors flock to the Dolomites. And every year, traffic restriction measures and temporary road closures are put in place – in a bid to keep the crowds under control and discourage visitors from arriving by car and motorbike.
In short: To get to your destination in an environmentally friendly, comfortable and reliable way, it’s best to make use of the well-coordinated local bus connections and shuttle services – especially if you are planning to visit the most popular sights in the Dolomites. The services provided are based on a cooperation between the provincial authorities, tourism organisations, a local mobility pool and the municipalities concerned. Here's what to keep in mind when it comes to tickets, fares and online reservations:

Lines 439 Monguelfo/Welsberg – Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee and 442 Dobbiaco/Toblach – Villabassa/Niederdorf – Braies/Prags:
Between 10 July and 10 September, both services require previous booking and online payment. Online reservations are available at prags.bz/en.
Exceptions: On each of these services, 10 seats are reserved for Südtirol Pass holders and other passengers with südtirolmobil subscription tickets. Those seats do not need to be reserved online.
Südtirol Pass and other südtirolmobil subscription tickets are valid on both lines. Please note that Mobilcards, GuestCards and pre-paid cards are not valid during this period.
Line 440 Sesto/Sexten – Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal – Passo Monte Croce/Kreuzbergpass: From 11 June to 8 October, the valley can only be reached with this shuttle service. Separate fares apply. Tickets are available on board. Südtirol Pass, other südtirolmobil subscription tickets and the SextenCard pass are all valid, but please note that Mobilcards and other GuestCards cannot be used on this service.
For visitors from outside Sesto/Sexten, we recommend taking the 446 public-transport service between Dobbiaco/Toblach and San Candido/Innichen. You can change onto the shuttle service to Val Fiscalina/Fischleintal at the valley station of the Monte Elmo/Helm cable car.
Line 443 Dobbiaco/Toblach and Monguelfo/Welsberg – Ferrara/Schmieden – Prato Piazza/Plätzwiese: All Südtirol Pass, other südtirolmobil subscription tickets, Mobilcards and GuestCards are valid on this public-transport service.
Line 444 Dobbiaco/Toblach – Misurina – Rifugio Auronzo/Auronzohütte (Three Peaks): This service is available from 3 June to 15 October and requires previous booking and online payment. Online reservations are available at drei-zinnen.bz/en/ticket. Subject to availability, any remaining tickets can be bought at the bus and train stations in Dobbiaco/Toblach. Südtirol Pass, other südtirolmobil subscription tickets and the SextenCard pass are all valid, but please note that Mobilcards and other GuestCards cannot be used on this service.
