This Easter, ditch your car and take the train: Planning a day out near Merano/Meran or Bolzano/Bozen on Easter Monday? Then don't miss out on these top rail connections.
Easter typically means not only a multitude of events in every corner of South Tyrol – experience also shows that road traffic tends to get quite intense. And with the FC Südtirol football club’s top match this season coming up, too, there’s bound to be additional congestion.
Whether you’re a football fan, a hiking enthusiast or simply planning a day trip: This Easter Monday, the most comfortable way to travel will certainly be by train – which is why, on 10 April, we’re ramping up services between Merano/Meran and Bolzano/Bozen in particular. Between 9:01 and 18:01, trains departing from Bolzano/Bozen will run not every hour but every 30 minutes. The same applies to trains departing from Merano/Meran between 9:16 and 18:16. And if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that every train passenger helps to reduce traffic jams on our roads.
Bassa Atesina/Unterland: services every 30 minutes
If you’re travelling to or from the south, trains are your best option, too: With the timetable change last December, afternoon services along the north-south axis were significantly increased on weekends, meaning that on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays – and therefore on Easter Monday, too – there will be trains to and from Bolzano/Bozen every half hour almost without interruption.
