Travel safely through the wee small hours

Nightliner buses: new concept launched on 30 April

Good news for night owls in South Tyrol: After a Covid-related two-year break, our popular night-bus services will be back from 30 April 2022 – first the main routes and then, at a later stage, the shuttle services.

A close-knit network of bus services covering almost all of South Tyrol, scheduled to run throughout Saturday nights: The first routes to resume services on 30 April will be a total of 19 main lines connecting a whole host of popular meeting points, cities and villages in all parts of South Tyrol. Several new lines have been added to the portfolio of main Nightliner routes:

  • N201 Bolzano/Bozen-Merano/Meran,
  • N301 Bolzano/Bozen-Bressanone/Brixen,
  • N310 Bressanone/Brixen-Vipiteno/Sterzing,
  • N165 Bolzano/Bozen-Renon/Ritten,
  • N180 Bolzano/Bozen-Passo Costalunga/Karerpass and
  • N181 Bolzano/Bozen-Monte S. Pietro/Petersberg.

The N150 Bolzano/Bozen-Val Sarentino/Sarntal valley service has also been integrated into the network of main routes.

Nightliner services run every Saturday night and on 31 December. In addition, the N170 Sciliar/Schlern service will also run on Friday nights along a reduced route.

19 main lines and a broad grid of shuttle services

Most Nightliner services make at least two return trips along the main routes, for example late Saturday evening, shortly after midnight or early Sunday morning – most with on-board security. The main lines are funded by the government of South Tyrol. All departure times are scheduled in coordination with the district authorities or in cooperation with local youth organisations.

In addition, a comprehensive network of shuttle services will be made available in a few weeks’ time. Their departures are coordinated to match the return journeys of the Nightliner service, aiming to provide party-goers with a safe and sound journey back home throughout the night. All shuttle services are organised and funded by the district authorities. When exactly they will start running is yet to be announced.

Nightliner tickets on the go

Mobile ticketing is the easiest way to stay on the move – and that also applies to journeys through the night. If you have a Südtirol Pass, a Euregio Family Pass or if you’ve activated the optional function to pay for additional services on your Südtirol Pass abo+ or Südtirol Pass 65+ subscription, you can use your smartphone to conveniently pay for your journey before boarding – either as a single ride or as a complete trip including shuttle services. Our Best-Price-Cap guarantee means that even if you make more than one journey, the maximum total fare you will pay is 5 EUR.

Checking in with a Südtirol Pass: All main-line Nightliner buses are equipped with ticket validation machines: If you have a Südtirol Pass or if you’ve activated the option to pay for additional services on your abo+ subscription, you can simply use our online check-in to pay for your journey. Alternatively, you can purchase a single ticket (3 EUR) or a night pass (5 EUR) on board.

Please note that it is not possible to transport pets or bicycles on Nightliner services. N1, N35 and N13 (Bolzano/Bozen and Merano/Meran): These inner-city evening services are not part of the Nightliner network. Nightliner tickets and fares therefore do not apply here.
