From Monday 14 April to Monday 2 June 2025, the Pustertal/val Pusteria railway will be closed on the section between Bruneck/Brunico and Innichen/San Candido.
The Italian infrastructure manager RFI will use this period to carry out modernisation, technical and safety work on the existing line. The European Train Control System (ETCS) will also be installed. Finally, the overhead lines will be replaced.
A replacement bus service will be provided throughout the works and closures.

The Franzensfeste/Fortezza-Bruneck/Brunico railway line will also be closed, probably until Saturday 13 December 2025.
Replacement bus service (Bruneck/Brunico-Innichen/San Candido)
B500 replacement buses run every half hour between Bruneck/Brunico station and Innichen/San Candido station. The replacement buses do not serve the railway stations (except Bruneck/Brunico, Olang/Valdaora and Innichen/San Candido), but the main bus stops in the various towns.
The hospital in Bruneck/Brunico is not connected to the replacement service, but is easily reached from Bruneck/Brunico railway station by several bus services.

The SV223 replacement bus service runs hourly between Innichen/San Candido and Sillian stations.
