Passengers planning to travel on Sunday 17 July need to keep in mind two disruptions: a bomb disposal in the city centre of Bolzano/Bozen and maintenance works along the Pusteria/Pustertal valley train line.
On the morning of Sunday 17 July, trains in the following sections of the Pusteria/Pustertal valley will be suspended:
- Fortezza/Franzensfeste – San Candido/Innichen: 6:30-13:30
- San Candido/Innichen – Sillian (A): 9:00-12:00
Regular services will resume later that day, with the first trains scheduled to depart from Fortezza/Franzensfeste and San Candido/Innichen at 13:50. This is to allow the company operating the railway network to carry out a series of inspection and maintenance works required at regular intervals along the tracks. In the Pusteria/Pustertal valley, these works are scheduled to take place every two months.
Replacement bus services: During the maintenance works, rail replacement services will be provided:
- at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour from San Candido/Innichen (e.g. 12:10 and 12:40)
- and at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour from Fortezza/Franzensfeste (e.g. 12:20 and 12:50).
They will call at most stations – with the following exceptions: In Brunico/Bruneck Nord (hospital), the replacement buses will stop at Via Andreas Hofer/Andreas-Hofer-Straße, in Perca/Percha at Municipio/Rathaus (town hall) and in Villabassa/Niederdorf at Piazza Von Kurz/Von-Kurz-Platz. Please note that it is not possible to transport bicycles on replacement buses.
Bolzano/Bozen city centre closed off for bomb disposal works
In order to defuse a WWII bomb in central Bolzano/Bozen, from 08:45 until approx. 11:00 on Sunday morning the area surrounding the construction site on Via Alto Adige/Südtiroler Straße will be evacuated and sealed off for security reasons. Once the measures are lifted, all services will gradually return to normal.
The two-hour ban affects Bolzano/Bozen train station and, as a consequence, all rail traffic to and from Brennero/Brenner and Merano/Meran as well as all bus services in the city centre.
The city’s bus station is located outside the restricted zone, but only buses travelling through the eastern part of Bolzano/Bozen can access it safely. This means that the following services will continue to call at Bolzano/Bozen bus station: 165, 170, 180, 181, 182, 184 and 350. All other services will run to and depart from Piazza della Vittoria/Siegesplatz, with stops located along the side facing Via Cesare Battisti/Cesare-Battisti-Straße.
The Infopoint at Bolzano/Bozen bus station will remain closed during all of Sunday.
The Renon/Ritten cable-car and the Colle/Kohlern cable-car will not be affected.
