From 1 July, ticket prices for journeys between Innsbruck and Brennero/Brenner as well as between Lienz and San Candido/Innichen will change slightly.
While in South Tyrol public-transport fares have remained unchanged for several years, our neighbours have – in part due to inflation – regularly introduced minor price adjustments. The latest increase is set to come on Saturday 1 July, when the Austrian rail operators VVT and ÖBB will raise ticket prices for regional train journeys within Austria by a few cents:
Brennero/Brenner – Innsbruck Central Station
9.40 EUR VVT standard ticket EUR
5.40 EUR ÖBB-Vorteilscard/children
San Candido/Innichen and Versciaco/Vierschach – Sillian
4.00 EUR VVT standard ticket
2.10 EUR ÖBB-Vorteilscard/children
San Candido/Innichen and Versciaco/Vierschach – Lienz
12.10 EUR VVT standard ticket
5.40 EUR ÖBB-Vorteilscard/children
These fares also apply to südtirolmobil single tickets and to Südtirol Pass or Euregio Family Pass holders, regardless of their current fare price category.
Good to know: If you frequently travel across the Brennero/Brenner border and to Lienz on a Südtirol Pass subscription, it might be worth getting an ÖBB-Vorteilscard. In your user account, you can easily link the Austrian railway discount card to your Südtirol Pass or Euregio Family Pass. The same applies if you’ve activated the option to pay for additional services on your Südtirol Pass abo+ or 65+ subscription. On regional train journeys, the Austrian leg of the trip will then be charged at a reduced rate.
