tap&go. Fast and easy
The new ticketing system extends the digital offer with the tap&go payment system, which will make travelling faster and easier for everyone!
This new service makes it easier to access the integrated mobility network in South Tyrol, without having to buy a ticket in advance: with the tap&go system, you just have to take your payment card close to the public transport validator to activate the start of your journey.
When you arrive at your destination, a second tap completes the journey and the contactless payment is completed quickly and easily.
The journey is then automatically recorded thanks to the first and second taps, and the fare for the journey is calculated.
From April 2025, the first ticket validating machines with the new tap&go system will be activated on urban buses in Bozen/Bolzano and Meran/Merano (stage A).
To find out if the new system is active on your bus, look for the “tap&go – Active on your bus” sticker on the entrance door.
The tap&go system will then be extended to the regional bus fleet (stage B) and finally to the train stations (stage C).
- Activation: to book your journey, simply click on “ACTIVATE” on the validator or on the ticket machine. This activates the contactless payment circuit.
- First tap: once the system is activated, hold the payment card close to the contactless symbol and wait for a green OK to record the start of your journey.
- Second tap: When you arrive at your destination, and before you get off, tap the ticket machine a second time to complete the payment. A green OK indicates that the process was successful.
Warning: On urban buses, one tap is enough.
But don't forget to do the second tap at the end of your journey on regional buses. If you don't, the system will record the entire journey to the end of the line and charge you the full fare.

If the system is not available, the icon will be grey and crossed out with a red X.
If you are travelling with the Südtirol Pass or a ticket with a QR code, you can still validate your journey as the contactless and QR readers are active.
