On 10 June, the InterCity Notte returns, bringing holidaymakers from the south directly to South Tyrol – and vice versa.
If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that every guest arriving by train helps to reduce traffic jams on our roads. Reason enough offer more long-distance services during high season and to bring back the direct link between Rome and San Candido/Innichen again this summer.
Running every weekend from mid-February to early April, the “treno della neve” or snow train proved to be very popular with passengers. The same service will now ring in the summer season with the same timetable pattern, with services scheduled until 17 September 2023.
Departure times
On Friday and Saturday nights, the InterCity Notte leaves Roma Termini at 22:05. In South Tyrol, it stops in Ora/Auer, Bolzano/Bozen, Bressanone/Brixen, Fortezza/Franzensfeste, Brunico/Bruneck and Dobbiaco/Toblach, before finally arriving in San Candido/Innichen at 8:30 in the morning. On Saturday and Sunday evenings, the service runs in the opposite direction, departing from San Candido/Innichen at 19:18, calling at all of the above stations and arriving in Rome at 6:06 the following morning.
Effects on regional traffic
To avoid a conflict in track occupation, on Saturdays the R16030 regional service departing from Bolzano/Bozen at 5:27 in the morning and going towards Fortezza/Franzensfeste will be suspended.
Please note that Südtirol Passes as well as other südtirolmobil tickets and subscriptions are not valid on InterCity Notte services.
