For combined train, bus and bike tours along the Venosta/Vinschgau valley railway line, an additional road shuttle for the transport of bikes service is available from 25 April to 27 October 2024. At the stations of Merano/Meran, Lagundo/Algund and Marlengo/Marling it is not allowed to take a bicycle on the train between 9.00 a.m. and 12.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m.
However, we have arranged an additional bike transport service so you don't miss out on the thrill of two-wheeled travel.
The service operates on the Merano/Meran-Malles/Mals route with daily departures from Merano/Meran station, bus stop, platform Z, at the following times:
- Mornings at 09.16 and 10.16,
- Afternoons at 3.16 and 4.16.
The maximum capacity is 30 bikes, including e-bikes. The bicycles can be left between 30 and 5 minutes before the departure of the service and can be collected at the stations of Naturno/Naturn, Laces/Latsch, Silandro/Schlanders, Spondigna/Spondinig or Malles/Mals.
Please note: In the event of overcrowding, the on-board staff reserves the right to refuse access to bicycles for safety reasons.
Tickets and fares
The same conditions and fares apply to road transport as to public transport:
- 7 EUR - One-day ticket for bike transport;
- 3,50 EUR - validation with Südtirol Pass at reduced daily rate for bike transport.
Where to buy tickets - Bike tickets are available at ticket offices, directly at the starting point of the shuttle service and via the südtirolmobil app.
For large groups, the bicycle transport service must be booked in advance by telephone on +39 0473 201500 (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
Venosta/Vinschgau Valley: trains in the evening hours cancelled
Due to construction works the last three evening trains to Malles/Mals and the last two evening trains to Merano/Meran will be cancelled. A replacement bus service will be provided where the transport of bicycles is not permitted.
